Perhaps this book and others like it could provide some insight into why men have gotten away with sexual harassment for so many years. Thankfully, attitudes towards sex and love seem to be shifting and people are realizing that sexual attraction is not the same as love. I am putting this book in the trash where it belongs but I am not giving up on Nora Roberts as I believe she has matured over the years.

I am a Nora Roberts fan. I like to read light books at night when in bed and can put her books down after 1 chapter and pick it up
the next day or days later and read it. Her Ireland settings are great. This book was just okay.
I loved it because it was in a different country. The castle sounded beautiful and the Countess had a many faceted personalty. I really liked all the characters. Thanks Kit Ryan
Nora Roberts does it again. Another fine novel by a very talented author. The suspense and the romance were worth every page turned.
It was super short and I was able to get through it pretty quickly. Basic romance like the rest of Roberts work but still very sweet to read.
Everyone is looking/searching for love at some point. Nora Roberts "Search for Love" has great story lots of romance and expectations, surprises. Check it out!!
Serenity has just lost her parents, but receives an unexpected letter from her mothers' mother whom she knew nothing about. She visits her grandmother and her mother's childhood home at the family's Brittany Estate. At first, her grandmother is rude and makes accusations about her father being a thief. Serenity defends her father vowing to find the truth. While at the Estate, she also meets Christophe, who is formally polite, brooding, arrogant, annoying insufferable and conceited, and yet she is drawn to him and cannot understand why. Christophe has similar views about Serenity and he knows that Serenity's grandmother wants them to wed. While searching for a way to prove her father's innocence, she fights her feeling for Christophe and his domineering, bossy attitude. To say the sparks fly is an exaggeration. Two fiery tempers, a strong attraction. A classic Nora romance with two unforgettable characters.
This book was originally published in 1982 (sorry, I originally wrote 2008, when I looked at this again I knew that was wrong). At that time there was a rash of stories about women falling in love with men who were just plain unpleasant. The plot sounded good but the characters behaved improbably. Although there is no actual violence here are some quotes, if they don't bother you give the book a try.

". . .you have an amazing capacity for provoking punishment. I find the need to discipline you imperative."

"For even without his love she knew she would submit, and even without her submission he would take her."

". . . with your temperament, ma petit cousine, must be continually shown there is only one master."

"I would have Christophe look at me that way, and I could live on it for the rest of my life."
